How take-home pay is estimated

Begin with monthly basic salary and any additional taxable compensation. The salary calculator estimates the employee shares of SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG, subtracts those contributions to estimate taxable compensation, applies the monthly BIR withholding table, and subtracts the estimated deductions from gross compensation. This is a monthly model; your employer may calculate withholding separately for each payroll period.

  1. Gross compensation: basic salary plus the taxable allowances and other taxable income you enter.
  2. Statutory contributions: SSS follows a Monthly Salary Credit bracket; PhilHealth uses monthly basic salary subject to its floor and ceiling; Pag-IBIG follows a capped fund salary assumption.
  3. Withholding and net: the calculator applies its monthly tax table to estimated taxable compensation, then reports the remaining pay.

These bases differ. Adding an allowance may raise gross and taxable pay without changing the PhilHealth basic-salary base. A payroll system can also include benefits, exemptions and adjustments that the form cannot infer. Read the salary guide or inspect the exact assumptions.

Why your payslip may differ

Compare the lines on your payslip before comparing only the final net amount. Check the covered dates and whether the displayed gross is monthly or semi-monthly. Next, compare the SSS salary credit, PhilHealth monthly basic salary, Pag-IBIG fund salary and taxable compensation separately. Ask payroll how allowances, bonuses, absences and prior-period adjustments were classified.

Company loans, salary advances, insurance, leave adjustments and other authorized deductions can change the cash you receive. A payroll system may round at a different stage or spread deductions across cutoffs. PaycheckPH does not know those employer records, so a difference is a reason to inspect the components, not proof that either result is wrong.

When work hours or employment change

Overtime depends on the type of day as well as the extra hours. A rest day or holiday can change the applicable base before the overtime premium is applied. Night differential counts only qualifying work between 10 PM and 6 AM, with unpaid breaks removed. Use the overtime and night differential pages for examples and scope limits.

For covered employees, 13th month pay is generally one-twelfth of basic salary actually earned in the calendar year. Enter each month separately when your salary changed or you worked only part of the year. Try the monthly input calculator.

Final pay is the collection of amounts due when employment ends; separation pay is one possible component in qualifying circumstances. Resignation alone does not automatically create statutory separation pay. Check the final pay checklist and the separation ground guide before entering figures.

How we maintain the estimates

Our methodology and sources lists the salary assumptions and explains what each calculator includes. For statutory figures we link to the responsible agencies, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR and DOLE. Government issuances and individual circumstances can change a result; verify consequential decisions against the latest official material.

PaycheckPH is independent and is not endorsed by those agencies. Report a suspected error or outdated source with the input values and the official reference you used.

Frequently asked questions

Are these official payroll figures?

No. PaycheckPH provides estimates and explanations. Your employer's payroll records and current agency rules determine the actual calculation.

Does the salary tool include loans and private insurance?

No. It estimates the displayed statutory contributions and withholding based on your inputs. Compare other deductions on your payslip separately.

Can everyone claim separation pay?

No. The reason employment ended and the facts of the case matter. The calculator estimates an amount for a selected ground; it cannot establish legal eligibility.
