Contribution parameters
PhilHealth's published schedule uses a 5% premium rate with a ₱10,000 Monthly Basic Salary floor and ₱100,000 ceiling.
For employed members, the premium is generally shared between employer and employee under applicable PhilHealth rules.
Example: ₱30,000 monthly basic salary
A 5% total premium is ₱1,500. If equally shared, the employee and employer portions are ₱750 each.
Salary above the ceiling
At a monthly basic salary above ₱100,000, the published ceiling limits the contribution base. Using the ceiling, 5% produces a ₱5,000 total monthly premium.
What is Monthly Basic Salary?

How the 2025 premium framework works
PhilHealth's 2025 advisory keeps the premium rate at 5% of monthly basic salary, subject to a ₱10,000 floor and ₱100,000 ceiling. For an employed-member estimate where the premium is shared equally, the employee portion is half of the total premium.
Worked examples
- Basic salary ₱8,000: the ₱10,000 floor produces a ₱500 total premium; a 50/50 employee share estimate is ₱250.
- Basic salary ₱30,000: 5% produces a ₱1,500 total premium; a 50/50 employee share estimate is ₱750.
- Basic salary ₱50,000: 5% produces a ₱2,500 total premium; a 50/50 employee share estimate is ₱1,250.
- Basic salary ₱120,000: the ₱100,000 ceiling limits the total premium to ₱5,000; a 50/50 employee share estimate is ₱2,500.
Basic salary is the key input
The PhilHealth advisory specifies monthly basic salary for the employed-member computation and excludes items such as sales commissions, overtime pay, allowances, 13th-month pay, bonuses and other gratuity payments from that base. That is why a PhilHealth deduction should not automatically rise just because total gross compensation rises in a particular month.
How to check your payslip
Compare the basic salary used by payroll with the contribution floor and ceiling, calculate the total premium, then identify the employee share. If your employer uses a different payroll frequency, timing and rounding may make a single payslip look different from a simple monthly estimate.
